Welcome to Psycle®. We are so excited for you to begin your journey and join our Psycle® Community.
Here are some helpful tips for a great experience!
ON TIME.
Arrive at the studio 15 minutes prior to the ride. Let the front desk person and instructor know that you are new to the studio and they will help you get signed in and setup. All riders are required to sign a waiver prior to class so make sure to stop at the front desk if you have not signed it online.
WARDROBE.
Be sure to wear clothing that will not rub or chafe while working out. Our bikes accommodate SPD and Look Delta cycling cleats. We also provide cages for students wearing athletic shoes. We recommend athletic tennis shoes for the strength room.
ACCESSORIES.
Please bring water and a towel to class – and athletic shoes to strength class. There is a filtered water cooler for clients to fill their bottles.
BIKE SET-UP.
Watch this short video to learn how to set-up your bike when you arrive at your first class.
INTENTION.
What do you want to accomplish during your class? Bringing positive energy and intention into the studio creates an energy footprint for you and those sharing the space to create an environment of positivity, support and encouragement.
YOUR RIDE.
Take the ride at your own pace, sitting when you need a break, adjusting your resistance to match the rhythm of each song, while always listening to your body first. You will grow stronger with each ride. Ride from your core, let the rhythm of the music saturate your soul, and have fun! It’s not about “doing the entire class” the way the instructor does; it’s about giving it your personal best in each moment so you feel great walking out of the studio. Many people in the Psycle community have been doing this for years and they were all new once too…no judgement – it’s progress, not perfection.
YOUR STRENGTH CLASS.
Take our strength classes at your own pace. Classes are designed for ALL fitness levels and moves can be modified to adjust for each individual depending on their needs (as long as you tell us.) While music provides motivation and a good beat to catch while working out, always focus on form first and mastering the move safely before you try to add speed or more weight. Listening to your body first is always recommended, if something doesn’t feel right, speak up and your instructor will help you adjust as needed. You will grow stronger with each class so have fun and embrace the burn, that means your building muscle and burning fat!
FUEL UP… 2-3 HOURS BEFORE CLASS.
It is critical to your body’s performance – and not passing out – that you hydrate with H2O and have a healthy snack 2-3 hours prior to class. Be sure to keep it on the light side – an apple and some raw nuts and seeds – as too much food prior to physical activity can make you sick. You will be pushing your body hard regardless of what class you attend, so fuel up smart!
